Refrigeration Service Technician/Tech Support

Therma-Stor Products, a leading manufacturer of basement, whole house dehumidification and restoration equipment is growing again. Our Service Department is currently seeking a repair technician to join our team and provide warranty repairs as well as detailed "Tech Line" support for equipment sold by Therma-Stor.

Position Summary:
Our ideal candidate will have 5+ years experience servicing small refrigeration equipment and or household appliances. This experience would have been gained through both "off site" and bench work settings. Our customers demand prompt, friendly and courteous contact while receiving good service. Job Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical expertise and service to a variety of customers over the phone.
  • Able to learn, troubleshoot, and provide technical expertise and support over a broad range of products.
  • Make timely high quality repairs on warranty and non-warranty units.
  • Provide product "Tech Line" support and technical trouble shooting expertise down to the component level by phone and in a one on one setting.
  • Provide support and help remedy any issues with the return of goods.
  • Inspect product returns from customers and dealers, verifying product condition and warranty status.
  • Assist with final disposition of freight damaged items.
  • Responsible for ensuring appropriate parts are in stock to repair units and also ensuring that parts are ordered for warranty and/or service units.
  • Other functions required as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years experience servicing and troubleshooting Refrigeration/Appliance equipment and associated components.
  • Refrigeration certification required.
  • Able to read and understand product wiring diagrams.
  • High level of customer service experience, working with customers of all backgrounds and skill levels, including with dealer technicians, home owners, etc.
  • Tactful & diplomatic verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and a team player capable of working in a fast paced environment.
  • Basic PC skills. Knowledge of JDE software is preferable.
  • Physically able to lift and move 70 pound packages.
